What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy – also known by the abbreviation HBOT – is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment (a chamber), at a level higher than 1 atmosphere absolute (ATA).

That increased pressure allows oxygen to dissolve and saturate more effectively in your blood system, primarily the plasma (independent of the hemoglobin). This process yields a broad variety of positive physiological, biochemical and cellular effects.
